Coached Speed Workouts – SPRING 2017

Want to get faster, stronger and more efficient in your running? Do you want to improve your running form, learn more about injury prevention, stretching and strengthening drills?  Coach Tony Watson and Assistant Coach Charlene Kohler-Britton are offering a special 1 ½ hour, seven week speed work session for $50 that includes all that and more. Sessions are offered for both experienced/faster runners (Tuesdays) and beginner/slower runners (Thursdays).  These workouts are for PPTC members only. They will be held in Prospect Park and at the Red Hook Track. Our Speed Clinics are geared to all runners who favor all distances, from the mile to the marathon. Workouts will include drills, strength training, core and stretches in addition to the speed work.

The seven week session will begin on April 11th & 13th and will run through May 23rd & 25thSign up here:

Each week a suggested training program will be sent by email after each session. Each includes a program for those runners training for 10K distance and under, as well as a program for those who are training for half to full marathons.

Attached you will find the Info Sheet that we need each runner to complete, even if you’ve run with the coached speed program before. Please carry it with you for your first session and we will collect them before we begin. If the speed workouts are new to you, please bring your race history (2014-present).

Coached Speed Workouts – Summer 2016

Want to get faster, stronger and more efficient in your running?  Do you want to improve your running form, learn more about injury prevention, stretching and strengthening drills? Coach Tony Watson and Assistant Coach Charlene Kohler-Britton offer 10 week speed work sessions for $50 that includes all the above, and more.

These workouts are for PPTC members 18 years of age or older only, and are held in Prospect Park and at the Red Hook Track. While the Speed Clinics are geared to all runners who favor all distances, our July speed clinic is also the perfect way to dig-in or jump start your training for those planning for a fall marathon.

Sessions are offered for beginner/slower runners (Thursdays) and experienced/faster runners (Tuesdays).  These workouts are for PPTC members only. The next 10-week sessions start on July 5 & 7. The training sessions will meet each week at 7:00 PM.

Coached Speed Workouts – Spring 2016

For the spring 2016 only, Coach Tony & Charlene will conduct a weekly 2-hour boot camp of intensive speed training over 5 weeks. Each session will include warm-up, drills, core & strength work and speed work, ending with cool down and stretching.

We guarantee that each 2-hour workout will work and train your body not only to run faster, but to be stronger, better balanced and more efficient overall.

Tuesday evenings are for faster, more advanced runners (April 26th – May 24th)
Thursday evenings are for beginners and intermediate runners (April 28th – May 26th)

All sessions will meet at 7:00 p.m. at either the Bartel Pritchard Square entrance of Prospect Park (15th Street and Prospect Park West) or the Red Hook Track; the location will be announced before each session. A car will always be available for storing gear. Water will be provided.
