We have both 50M and 50K options!

Happy runner at the 50 Miler!

About the Endurance Fest

Come run an ultramarathon in the heart of Brooklyn! This looped course is the spiritual successor NYC's heritage of road ultras, including the Knickerbocker 60k and the Metropolitan 50 Mile. This race will begin and end near the Lincoln Road Entrance to Prospect Park and will be comprised of roughly 15 loops of the park for the 50 miler and 9 loops plus a short out-and-back for the 50k. Sweet finisher buckles will be awarded. Hydration will be provided by Skratch Labs, and registrants will be encouraged to contribute one shareable item for the pot-luck style aid station accessible at every loop. We will have a generous 15 hour cut-off, so this should be a great race for a first-time ultramarathon.

  • The course consists of the full loop of Prospect Park, 15 or 9 times in a row. The 50k will do a small out and back along center drive before returning to the main loop on their first time around the park. That’s it, nothing fancy! The start/finish will be just South of the Lincoln Road park entrance. Race central will also be located at the start/finish area. ONLY registered runners and race crew/volunteers will be allowed in the race area.

  • Race will be chip-timed by Catskills Timing.

  • This is a cup-less race. Please bring your own cup or water bottle.

  • Registrants will be encouraged to contribute one shareable item for the pot-luck style aid station accessible at every loop

  • Park Slope Volunteer EMS will be onsite for the duration of the race.

  • Race registration will close once event capacity is reached - do not delay signing up! Race day registration is NOT available.

In true ultramarathon fashion, all finishers will receive a sweet belt buckle. Of course, you’ll also get bragging rights and an epic social media post. All participants will also be given a sweet neck buff, although we are also allowing folks to opt-out of the buff or the buckle, and encourage folks to consider this option to reduce the environmental footprint of our races.

Race Packets

Packets will be available on race day only; we will not be mailing packets prior to the event. We will notify you of your bib number by email in advance.

This year's belt buckle will be updated to include the name of the race!

Skratch Hydration Mixes

We’re excited that Skratch Labs will be sponsoring this race, and providing single-serving packets of their hydration mixes for runners! These mixes replace the electrolytes lost in sweat and provide a boost of energy when working out, without offending your palate or gut.

FAQs

How do I get there?

The start/finish area is located near the Lincoln Road Entrance on the East Side of the Park. The closest subway stop is the Prospect Park Q/S stop. There are several Citibike bike share docks near there outside of the park. There is street parking along Ocean Ave, but we highly encourage folks to take public transit if possible.

When does the race start?

The race will start at 6 a.m. for both 50K and 50M participants at 6:00am.

I’m running the 50K. Anything specific I should know?

50K runners will take a left about half a mile into the course, do a short out-and-back, then will continue on the main loop with the 50-mile runners. Please pay attention to the course marshals at this critical point in the race.

Will you provide water? What about bathrooms?

There will be water and Skratch provided at the start/finish line, so you’ll have access to that each 3.35-mile loop. There will be porta-potties in the same area. (There are also water fountains and porta-potties throughout the loop, although some of those may be more or less functional than others.)

Will you provide food for runners?

We are asking that people contribute to the potluck style aid station. Those with last names starting A-K, please bring a shareable item that is sweet. Those with last names starting L-Z, please bring something salty. If you have a particularly fun item that has helped you finish races, please feel free to share! You should also be prepared with whatever bare minimum nutrition you need to get through your race.

Are pacers allowed?

Pacers are welcome, we just ask that all are mindful that the loop is open to the public and we need to be respectful of the other users of the park. Please be kind to everyone using our park!

Is there a cutoff?

Yes, the race has a strict 9 p.m. cutoff. Unfortunately our permit does not allow us to stay open longer than 15 hours. If you are registered for the 50 miler and are uncertain if you can complete the distance within that timeframe and wish to drop down to the 50K event, please let us know no later than 11:59 p.m. on 11/24/2024. 50K finisher buckles will not be awarded to folks who start but do not finish the 50-miler.

Will there be a bag drop?

The start-finish area will also be a bag drop area. We will have volunteers monitoring the area but please be cognizant of the fact that this is a public park and the area will not be fully locked down. We have never had issues with anyone going into drop bags but you should leave as many valuables as possible at home.

Anything else I should know?

Lastly, but most importantly, please be kind and welcoming to one another! Our event is meant to be a gateway for new ultrarunners, and there will be people running their first ultra. Please make sure that they feel as welcome as possible, as they deserve to be here as much as someone who could already make a whole belt out of finisher buckles. If you see or hear of anyone violating this welcoming spirit, please let one of the Race Directors know.
