Committees are a great way for members to help out with behind the scenes aspects of the club. Please reach out to one of our committees by email if you have a question, idea, or would like to get involved! The Blog Team does Member Spotlights and writes articles and reviews of club social events for the PPTC website blog. The Blog Team is part of the Communications Committee.

Clothing

The Clothing Team manages current clothing inventory, designs, and selects new options for PPTC garments and gear. The Clothing Team works in tandem with the Design Team.

Design

The Design Team develops graphics and artwork used by the club in a wide range including communications, social media posts and race-related items.

The Diversity Committee works to improve the diversity, equity, inclusion, and access within the club and at the club’s events. The Diversity Committee also works in the club’s efforts to improve DEIA in our community.

Grants

Membership

The Membership committee processes new members and renewals, answers membership inquiries, and manages the list serv & Facebook discussions page.


Race

The Race Committee plans, organizes and executes our quality races throughout the year.  Contact us if you'd like to get involved! We are always looking for additional support on this committee as well as new participants who would like to join the Intern Race Director program.


Social

The Social Committee organizes fun events, like New Members Runs, food runs, and post-race brunches. We’re always looking for new event organizers; send us an email to join in and give back to your running community!


Training & Competing

The Training and Competing committee coordinates training programs based on the needs of members, promotes participation in NYRR Club Points races and select non-NYRR races, facilitates NYRR liaison and highlights noteworthy performances of club members at all paces on our social media channels.


Volunteer

We believe running is more meaningful and valuable when we engage in acts of service that promote running. Thus, the Volunteer Committee encourages the involvement of club members in our club's races, or community races and events that support running in Brooklyn.Among other tasks, the committee manages volunteer registration for PPTC races and other large events, volunteer communications, volunteer points tracking and reward redemptions, and partners with various committees and event organizers to determine and adjust volunteer needs.
