Inside the earbuds of … Geoffrey Vincent
Welcome to this week’s installment of Inside the Earbuds of…
Dedicated PPTC member Geoff Vincent is a UK native, a craft beer expert, a road AND trail-runner -- and his music tastes are cool and diverse. Check out what's happening in his earbuds...
Even though running is a regular part of my routine I was actually a latecomer to the sport. I didn't start running until I was 22 years old and the year I started running was before a significant number of our club members were even born! I did, however, have a much earlier foundation with good music (in 1967 I saw Jethro Tull and 10 Years After). I only listen to music when I'm working-out at the Y, and these days my musical tastes are all over the dial. When I'm on the 'mill I usually go for rock or electronic. I just discovered Underworld, which is a lot of fun for speed work. At home I either make Genius lists from my iPod or I'll let Pandora explore music for me. Below are picks from my library that got me through a recent short tempo run. Enjoy!
1. Kings of Leon -Slow Night, So Long
2. Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows
3. Underworld - Born Slippy
4. The Black Crowes - Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution
5. The Doors - L.A. Woman
6. The Jimi Hendrix Experience - The Wind Cries Mary
7. The Band - The Weight
8. Jethro Tull - Fat Man
