CONTEST! Make the coolest GPS route in the Park
This heat makes outdoor running a chore. So how about keeping your mind off of the weather with a fun competition? Over the next two weeks, your editors are holding a contest to see who can come up with the coolest (pun intended) route in our verdant home, Prospect Park. The rules are simple:
1. The route you submit must be entirely within or along Prospect Park. You may start the route elsewhere, but we'll only consider the Park part.
2. You may submit the map from your GPS device, or draw the route online at a site like MapMyRun or RunKeeper.
3. You must actually run the full route - in other words, you may not stop and restart your GPS device to draw a line.
4. Come up with a clever title.
Please send your entries to news@pptc.org by Wednesday, July 31. Submit as many as you'd like!
An all-star roster will decide the winners. We'll give out prizes at the picnic after the Team Championships on August 3 [register: men women].
For your inspiration, here's part of a run I did on Tuesday. I call it Lobster Claw.
Happy mapping!
