Inside the earbuds of … Colleen Lynch
Welcome to this week’s installment of Inside the Earbuds of… Music preference while working out is a personal one. Strong and speedy Colleen Lynch programs her perfect mix with a whole lot of indie rock paced for the cycle of her gym workout -- from warm-up to cool-down. Enjoy her playlist!
When I run I love to listen to the birds chirping, kids playing, or most common, other peoples' conversations! I use my workout playlist to get through strength training at the gym. If I can't hear the other people, they can't see me collapsing out of a plank, right?
My playlist starts with a warm-up section that is fun and feel good, then my mix builds to high intensity tunes. Nothing pumps me up like screaming lead ladies! As fatigue might settle in, I like to hear songs that are peppered with encouraging lyrics to keep me going. This part in my mix is also great for hill training on the treadmill too.
I finish out my playlist with a favorite guilty pleasure song. I can listen to that song on repeat while I get a nice long stretch in before I strut out of the gum. And yes, I know – what a hipster.
