Looking forward to November

NYC Marathon season officially kicks off today! From now until May 24, you can register on My NYRR. Some will gain automatic entry through the 9+1 program or by the new qualifying standards; others will cross their fingers for a lottery slot.

Last year NYRR had a big celebration on opening day at Columbus Circle, complete with television coverage, big running names, and prizes. Either the top brass have elected to tone things down after Sandy, or I wasn't invited. Or maybe they'll have something when the lottery closes. Anyway, I digress.
