Be A Good Run Citizen
We’ve had far too many tragic incidents happen while we’re out doing what we love to do—RUN! Join us for an awareness and solidarity run.
Kick off Runner Safety Awareness Week with a panel of running safety experts to discuss the current climate, best practices and create an open dialogue on how to safely run in New York City.
Join us as we continue our cross country series with the NYRR Harry Murphy Cross Country. Born in Brooklyn, Harry Murphy (1914-1993) was a founding member of NYRR in 1958 and co-founded the Prospect Park Track Club (PPTC) in 1970. A sign maker by trade, Murphy painted countless signs for NYRR events, earning the nickname "The Brush."
As a runner, coach, and mentor, Murphy is remembered by PPTC members for his innovative workouts and for helping many to develop a love for running. Celebrate his legacy on the trails of Van Cortlandt Park, or cheer on the runners with signs that would make Harry Murphy proud!
We’ll be organizing a group brunch at Tortoise & Hare after the race! We have tentative reservations for 12:30pm. Please respond to the Facebook poll or reach out to Holly Chase directly if you’ll be sticking around for the brunch.
