Harry's Handicap

  • Holy Name of Jesus Church 245 Prospect Park West Brooklyn, NY, 11215 United States (map)

Ring in the new year with this unique race.

Harry’s Handicap was first run in 1977, and it is designed to allow all runners to have a competitive chance at the podium. Runners will give their estimated paces to the race director, who will then assign them a starting time. Slower runners get a head start, with the goal being that everyone finished at nearly the same time.

Runners should go to Shepard’s Hall at the back of Holy Name of Jesus Church (near Bartell-Pritchard Square) to receive their instructions. The race will start and end inside the park at BPS, followed by a potluck back at the church.
