Here’s a message from the Transportation Alternatives Brooklyn Activist Committee
Hi Prospect Park Track Club,
Could you ask your members to run over the Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg Bridges on Sunday, September 20th?
Transportation Alternatives just launched a new campaign for drastically more pedestrian and cycling spaces on the three bridges that connect Brooklyn and Manhattan. To draw attention to the need for more space, we're calling for people to walk or run over the three bridges on Sept. 20th and post pics from the bridges on social media with the hashtag #bridges4people.
Your club could do an organized run over the bridges on Sept. 20th, or you can publicize this call to action and ask your members to run over the bridges on their own.
Our website has more information about the campaign for more pedestrian space on the bridges. Anyone can participate in the run, but we hope people who participate will RSVP so we have a sense of numbers.
Let me know if you have any questions. This campaign involves bringing our whole community together, and it'd be wonderful to have support from your runners.
Thanks so much!
Take care,
Blythe
