Members who intend to be at the in-person meeting must pre-register.
Bus or ferry? What to bring and wear before while waiting to start? Racing strategy? How often should I take a gel? When does it start hurting?
All your questions answered, tips, tricks, and more by our incredible experienced PPTC panelists and moderator who all have run the NYC Marathon. If you're planning on running the NYC Marathon, especially if you've never run the NYC Marathon before or if you're running your first marathon, you'll want to be at this meeting!
Our moderator is Koushik Daskika. He is a software engineer and a professional sedentary person based in Crown Heights. He started running when he was tricked into signing up for a half marathon by his friends in 2017.
Koushik got the idea to become a regular runner and to started training after he signed up for the PPTC AGSS 2018.
He ran the NYC marathon in 2019. His next race is the NYC Runs Brooklyn Marathon in April 2022.
Our panelists are:
Linda Chan - Linda (she/her) is a masters runner and a back-of-the-pack runner. She ran her first New York City Marathon in 2011 and is running her 6th New York City Marathon this year. For years when she wasn’t running the marathon, Linda volunteered on race day. She also has volunteered at the New York City marathon expo.
David Coleman - He has been a member of PPTC for about 6 years and has served in various capacities. He is especially proud of the work we did as the Race Committee during the pandemic and the return to live racing for the Al Goldstein Speed Series earlier this summer. He has run 11 NYC marathons and 15 overall. He is running in his first ultra (65K) this October as a fundraiser for Chips and Providence House.
Rachael DePalma - Rachael (she/her) is a washed up track runner and pole vaulter. She ambitiously ran two marathons in 2019, one of them being the NYC marathon. Rachael is currently enjoying a long spell of simply running to run. She has a whopping total of zero races lined up, ambitious, right? Can otherwise be found exploring in various ways: hiking, biking, or road trips with good friends, good music and lowered windows.
