Weekend recap: May 25-27
Although Friday afternoon promised a gloomy forecast, the weekend ended with a bit of sunshine as we remembered and celebrated the United States Armed Forces on Memorial Day. Out on the roads and trails, PPTC kicked in some great races. On Sunday morning in York, Pennsylvania, three members ran the Bob Potts Marathon on the Heritage Rail Trail. Congratulations to Megan Dee (3:54:23), Selina Rutovitz (3:55:23), and Michael Ring (4:36:12)! Let us know how you liked the course and how you felt.
NYCRUNS hosted nearly 1,000 runners out on Roosevelt Island for the Ice Cream Social 5K and 10K. Who was there? Let us know how you raced!
Down in Lewes, Delaware on Sunday morning, I joined the Seashore Striders for the 20th Annual Masser 5 Miler and won the women's race! The course was fairly flat and incorporated mostly road, a little gravel trail, and an all-weather track start/finish. The shorter race made me excited for the upcoming Oakley Mini 10K in two weeks...
What other races could PPTC singlets be seen at this weekend?
Good luck to all of you training in the summer heat coming this week-- hydrate appropriately!
