Please join PPTC in solidarity with Antonio Tizapa and Running For Ayotzinapa 43 in this Fathers' Day Run, to demand the return of the 43 sons to their families, some of whom, like Antonio’s son, are fathers themselves.
This will be a 4 mile "easy pace" run, from Prospect Park (BPS) to Sunset Park. There will also be a picnic with food and drink at the end of the run.
ABOUT:
Running For Ayotzinapa 43 is an international community of amateur athletes based in NYC and founded by Antonio Tizapa, father of Jorge Antonio Tizapa Legideño, one of 43 students from the teachers' college in Ayotzinapa who were forcibly disappeared by local and federal police and military in collusion with organized crime on September 26, 2014 in the city of Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico. They run for truth and justice for the Ayotzinapa 43, for the tens of thousands of disappeared in Mexico, and to promote a dialogue and consciousness concerning human rights violations worldwide, and the imperativeness of truth and justice.
In the year since our first Fathers' Day group run with Running For Ayotzinapa 43 the class of 2018 graduated from the Raúl Isidro Burgos Rural Teachers' College without its schoolmates and there has been little progress in the case of the forcibly disappeared students.
