As you may know, the new year means we are getting closer to our annual Awards Night! The Team Captains wanted to give an update on where we are in the planning and fill you in on the details!
As some of you may have guessed, due to COVID-19 and the ongoing pandemic, we felt it was safest to have a virtual Awards Night this year. We are planning to make this a fun and interactive event with many opportunities for members to win prizes and participate in activities including polls and even some trivia.
The event will be held on Saturday, February 20th starting at 7:00 PM on Zoom. The event is open to current members with the invitation link being sent out to those who RSVP. The event this year is free - however, to ensure that we are able to have enough activities and prizes, we are capping participation to the first 250 folks to RSVP. (Event invitation will be sent out closer to Awards Night).
Awards Night is a time to celebrate the previous year and all that we have accomplished together. The awards and awards criteria are going to look a little bit different and we wanted to give everyone plenty of opportunity to understand the updates. One change we would like to highlight in particular is in regards to the Runners of the Year Awards, where we are taking a more inclusive approach for folks who identify as non-binary/gender nonconforming. We ask for you to include the gender you or your nominee best identifies with and the appropriate pronouns in the nomination form.
This PDF outlines the criteria for each award, and whether members vote for the award, or if the award is chosen by either Team Captains, a Committee, or the current President.
To nominate a member for an award, simply fill out the Nomination Form (check your email or find the link here) and submit no later than January 15th. In order for your nomination to make the short list and be voted upon by the club, the person nominated must receive a minimum of 2 nominations.
In conclusion:
Awards Night is going to be Virtual and held on Saturday February 20th at 7:00 PM
Nomination Forms will be sent out on the Google Forum and Facebook
Your nominations must be submitted no later than January 15th
The club will vote on award winners from January 18-25
