PPTC + Chinatown Runners Joint Run

  • 176 Delancey St, New York, NY 10002-3412, United States (map)

PPTC (along with Bridge Runners) are partnering with Chinatown Runners for their May 22 run. This is Chinatown Runners' third run to local Asian American communities. Chinatown Runners is not a crew or a club, but a movement of runners running to and in the city's Chinatowns to help boost the businesses hard hit by the pandemic and to support the people of the Chinatown communities who now find themselves subjected to increased hostility and hate crimes. May is Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. For this month, Chinatown Runner's run will start in Manhattan's Chinatown and end in Koreatown. The route is still being finalized, but the distance run will be between 5K and 8K. The goal of the run is cultural exploration, rather than a workout, so running paces should be casual. Masks are required (they can be lowered while running, but please put them on when gathering at the start and when stopped).

Options include meeting at 176 Delancey Street (in Manhattan) at 6PM or meeting at GAP at 5:15PM to run to the Delancey Street meeting point. Sign-up for either option on the group run sign-up sheet.

It should be a fun evening exploring all that Koreatown has to offer.
