It’s not often you see your running friends in clothing other than their running gear and when you finally get a rare sighting, it is truly a spectacle. This moment can be so extraordinary, so significant, that you might not even recognize your friends at first. You mean you’re not always incredibly sweaty and out of breath?

Read MorePPTC held its annual Awards Night on April 29, 2022. The change from the usual February date to an April date for Awards Night was not the only change. This year, our Brooklyn club held Awards Night in Manhattan! While none of us live within walking distance to Stitch Bar & Blues, it is owned by PPTC member Nicholas Cohen and is easily accessible by just about every subway line. This and the draw of a fun night out with teammates no doubt accounted for the packed bar when I arrived.

Read MoreWhen PPTC last raced the Washington Heights 5K in 2020, we still gathered in large groups, the eponymous Coogan’s was still open, and Covid was a mild curiosity. Little did we know that it would be the last NYRR Club Points race for two years. This past Sunday marked the triumphant return of club points races, at the 2022 edition of the Washington Heights Salsa, Blues, and Shamrocks 5K. This year, 61 members of PPTC packed the starting corrals, eager to race again on the hills of Fort Tryon Park.
