Congratulations NYC Marathoners

Running by PPTC’s cheer station at mile 7 and finding PPTC members cheering them on throughout the course, many of our finishers closed out their race day by going to PPTC’s post-race reunion. Here each finisher was greeted with applause, cow bells, hugs, and smiles. As tired as they were, these runners indulged me with a smile for some finisher portraits with their medals. Member Spotlight: Dr. Neil Guintu

Neil has been a PPTC member for the past year and has enjoyed volunteering and taking part in the pub runs. He has a lot of great ideas to work with club runners, including live run analyses in the park, sideline care at team races and meets, and running injury prevention and running performance workshops. Neil looks forward to community events and helping PPTC runners get back to running!

2022 Awards Night Recap

PPTC held its annual Awards Night on April 29, 2022. The change from the usual February date to an April date for Awards Night was not the only change. This year, our Brooklyn club held Awards Night in Manhattan! While none of us live within walking distance to Stitch Bar & Blues, it is owned by PPTC member Nicholas Cohen and is easily accessible by just about every subway line. This and the draw of a fun night out with teammates no doubt accounted for the packed bar when I arrived.

The PPTC Cat Retires

If you’ve ever been to or run by the PPTC cheer zone at the NYC Marathon, NYC Half, or any number of other races, you’ve probably seen the PPTC Cat often being held high by its steward, Murray Rosenblith.. PPTCat has cheered us on at countless races. Alas Mike’s cat has crossed the rainbow bridge and the PPTC Cat is on its last leg. With this, we are calling for nominations for a new PPTC mascot.
